Haywards was established as a fine dining restaurant in 2013 by Amanda and Jahdre Hayward. In 2019, they were awarded 3 AA Rosettes and, over 10 years, have built a fantastic reputation for their excellent menus, creative, seasonal dishes, and providing service of the highest quality.

Now, the husband and wife team will be focusing on offering bespoke events, catering, private dining, conferencing and a regular schedule of ‘experiences’ to be held at Haywards. These experiences will include Sunday roasts, themed dinners, cooking classes and wine workshops.

Located on the outskirts of the charming market town of Epping and at the very edge of the historic Epping Forest, Haywards is the perfect setting to host your event.

We have some private dining in the lead up to Christmas available for parties of 10-50 guests,

 Haywards Sunday Roast – from £65 for 3 courses
The Limited menu will include our homemade sourdough bread, amuse bouche, a choice of starter, main course and dessert, with petit fours to finish.
We currently have availability on the following Sundays:

Sunday 24th November (roast beef)
Sunday 15th December (roast turkey) running a waiting list!
5th January (roast chicken)
9th February (roast lamb)
23rd February (roast pork)

Friday 6th December 2024- Champagne Dinner- running a waiting list!
To get us into the festive spirit we are hosting a Champagne dinner. We are hosting a special 3 course set menu with paired Champagne. Also included will be an arrival glass of Champagne, homemade bread, amuse bouche, side dishes, pre dessert and petit fours. A cheese course, tea and coffee will all be available at supplement. This event will begin at 7pm.
£105 per person.

Saturday 21st December 2024 – Winter Evening Tasting Menu- running a waiting list!
We are already looking forward to welcoming the produce that winter brings and will be offering a 4-course tasting menu to celebrate this. We would love to welcome you at 7pm with a delicious arrival drink and then you can sit and enjoy four wonderful courses prepared by Chef Hayward. Also included will be our signature homemade bread, amuse bouche and petit fours. Paired wines, a cheese course, tea and coffee will all be available at supplement.
£72.50 per person.

Christmas Dinner Takeaway- Collection Christmas Eve
This pre prepared and ready to cook meal is ideal to remove the stress of the Christmas meal.
No shopping or preparation required. Ready to pick up, in disposable containers with heating instructions.
Homemade granary sourdough.
Turkey with all the trimmings. Vegetarian option available.
Haywards Christmas pudding with a brandy anglaise.

Friday 10th January 2025- Fish & Shellfish Evening
What a great way to kick of the new year with a 4-course tasting menu to celebrate the best British seasonal fish. We would love to welcome you at 7pm with a delicious arrival drink, then enjoy four wonderful courses prepared by Chef Hayward. Also included will be our signature homemade bread, amuse bouche and petit fours. Paired wines, a cheese course, tea and coffee will all be available at supplement.
£72.50 per person.

Friday 17th January 2025- Classical evening
We are excited to host an evening of 3 wonderful classical dishes prepared by chef Hayward to be accompanied by the sounds of our classical solo singer. The evening will start off with an arrival drink also included will be our signature homemade bread, amuse bouche and petit fours. Paired wines, a cheese course, tea and coffee will all be available at supplement. This event will begin at 7pm.
£87.50 per person

Sunday 26th January 2025- Australia Day Lunch
In celebration of Australia Day, we are hosting a 3-course lunch with matching Australian wines.  Also included will be an arrival drink, homemade bread, amuse bouche, side dishes, pre dessert and petit fours. A cheese course, tea and coffee will all be available at supplement.
£89.50 per person

Friday 31st January 2025- Vegetarian tasting menu evening
What a great way to end the first month of the new year. Chef Hayward will produce a four course beautifully presented flavoursome vegetarian tasting menu for this event. Also included will be our signature homemade bread, amuse bouche and petit fours. Paired wines, a cheese course, tea and coffee will all be available at supplement. This event will start at 7pm.
£72.50 per person.

Friday 7th February 2025– February 4 course tasting evening
Our new monthly 4 course tasting menu. Chef Hayward will produce a seasonal four course tasting menu for this event. Also included will be our signature homemade bread, amuse bouche and petit fours. Paired wines, a cheese course, tea and coffee will all be available at supplement. This event will start at 7pm.
£75 per person.

Friday 14th & Saturday 15th  February 2025- Valentines Evening
To celebrate St Valentines day, we are offering a romantic 4- course tasting menu. We welcome you at 7pm with a delicious arrival drink and then you can sit and enjoy four wonderful courses prepared by Chef Hayward. Also included will be our signature homemade bread, amuse bouche and petit fours. Paired wines, a cheese course, tea and coffee will all be available at supplement.

Friday 28th February – Martin’s Lane Wine Dinner
We are excited to host an evening in collaboration with the wonderful local vineyard located in Stow Maries, Chelmsford. 3 wonderful dishes prepared by chef Hayward to be accompanied by their wines. The evening will start off with an arrival glass of wine also included will be our signature homemade bread, amuse bouche and petit fours. A cheese course, tea and coffee will all be available at supplement. This event will begin at 7pm.

We concentrate on using seasonal and local ingredients wherever possible, and serving them to an award winning standard. Our small, friendly team of organisers will work with you to create your perfect event and help you to create unforgettable moments.

Weddings, Private Events & Parties

We can cater for up to 50 guests for a sit-down meal at Haywards, or 80 guests for more informal dining.
We offer a bespoke service, with a team of professional staff to take you through every step of planning your special occasion.
We can also cater for you at a location of your choice.
We have a variety of menu options available to include, but not limited to, tasting menus, canapés and grazing tables.
We would be delighted to discuss all of the options with you and assist you in planning your special event.

Corporate

Whether it’s conferencing packages you are looking for or a corporate party, celebration, or product launch, we can help!
We offer four different layouts for conferencing and can accommodate 16 to 50 delegates at Haywards.
Our choice of conferencing packages include our award-winning coffee, homemade treats and snacks, and delicious luncheon grazing tables.

Accommodation

We have a lovely one-bedroom, self-contained apartment on site. This is available to book by the night, or for long term rental. Please contact us for further details or to make a reservation.

Communication throughout was excellent and on the day the service was faultless.

Oh wow what a day! We can’t believe it’s been a year since we had our wedding reception at Haywards! From our arrival drinks right through to the end of the night the team at Haywards were fantastic. All our guests felt so taken care of and had an amazing time! The food, from the warm bread to the moreish desserts was INCREDIBLE! You couldn’t put fault to anything. Amanda and Louise were so helpful answering any questions or requests we had. I really can’t imagine having our special day anywhere else, it was beautiful, intimate and so much fun!
